William Boles is a Chicago based scenic designer who has designed both in the United States and Internationally in Stockholm, Sweden. Recent design work includes Into the Woods (Hypocrites); Sons of the Prophet (American Theater Company); The Golden Dragon (Side Show); Polaroid Stories (First Floor Theater); Trevor (A Red Orchid Theater); First Look Rep (Steppenwolf); The Pride (About Face Theater Company); The Coronation of Poppea (Opera Northwestern); Columbinus, Speech and Debate, The Amish Project (American Theater Company); She Kills Monsters, The Glass Menagerie (Buzz 22/ Steppenwolf Garage); How Long Will I Cry? (Steppenwolf); Equivocation (Victory Gardens Theater); Coriolanus (Hypocrites); Urinetown, The Duchess of Malfi (North Park University). William received his BFA from the University of Central Florida and did his Masters studies at Northwestern University. He is the recipient of the National Design Award from the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival for his design of August Wilson's, The Piano Lesson, which was featured in American Theater Magazine.
